Job Description

A Medical Billing Appeals Assistant role is available to assist the Relief for Autism/Emergence Coalition team in meeting responsibilities in a timely and accurate fashion. The appeals process involves reviewing medical necessity, faxing appeals to the appropriate party, setting reminders, and following up with carriers to ensure receipt of appeals.

The successful candidate will work closely with the team to meet deadlines and provide excellent customer service. They will also be responsible for confirming in-network provider ability to service new members and attending weekly team meetings.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of college education
  • At least 2 years experience in a medical practice dealing with billing including provider credentialing, authorizations, reimbursement, etc. preferably in Behavioral Health to some degree
  • Detail oriented with above-average organizational skills
  • Able to plan and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word
