Emergency Medical Services Driver

This role requires a professional with the ability to handle emergency situations, provide medical care and transport patients safely. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work well under pressure and have a calm demeanor in high stress situations.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to drive an ambulance as quickly and safely as possible to transport patients to the hospital while providing basic life support care during transit. This includes administering oxygen, assessing patient vital signs, and providing first aid when necessary. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting the ambulance before each shift to ensure it is properly stocked with medical supplies, fuel, and other essential items.
  • Reporting any needed repairs or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Providing accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including medical history, treatment administered, and transportation details.
Required Skills and Qualifications

For this role, we are seeking candidates with:

  • A valid driver's license with a restriction for operating an ambulance.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an emergency medical services (EMS) capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
