Strategic Medical Leadership & Advisory
- Serve as the primary medical authority on site, providing expert strategic guidance to leadership, HR, and HSE on all health-related matters.
- Conduct comprehensive Health Risk Assessments to identify site-specific threats, including endemic diseases and occupational hazards, and develop mitigation roadmaps.
- Lead the development, evolution, and implementation of site-specific health policies, procedures, and emergency response plans, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, local regulations, and international best practices (e.g., ISO).
- Perform gap analyses and medical facility reviews to evaluate the adequacy of on-site medical resources and prioritize actions for improvement.
- Provide case management support and expert advice to HR and management on complex issues including fitness-to-work evaluations, return-to-work strategies, and medical escalations.
Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance
- Develop, enforce, and monitor clinical protocols and standards to ensure all medical practices are ethical, evidence-based, and of the highest quality.
- Lead and participate in medical audits and Clinical Governance activities at the site level, driving continuous improvement in line with Medical Services guidelines.
- Oversee the accurate and compliant maintenance of all medical records (both EMR and paper-based) and patient documentation.
- Supervise and ensure strict compliance with all healthcare regulations, client contractual requirements, and International SOS procedures.
- Promote and support the integration of corporate health programs with broader HSE, employee wellness, and ESG sustainability objectives.
Health Promotion & Program Implementation
- Design and lead health promotion initiatives, workforce training, and capacity-building programs to address competency gaps and enhance preparedness.
- Develop and facilitate health and safety drills, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Map and validate local healthcare providers for emergency and routine care, ensuring a robust referral network.
- Monitor emerging health risks through health surveillance and provide data-driven recommendations to senior management to protect personnel and ensure business continuity.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as the key liaison for health matters between site leadership, corporate teams, and International SOS's global medical resources.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders (HR, HSE, leadership) to fully integrate health strategies into corporate operations.
- Present clear, data-driven reports and recommendations to senior management for policy development and resource allocation.
- Demonstrate a consistently professional and supportive attitude, ensuring clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization.

The Site Medical Advisor (SMA) service provides a comprehensive framework for addressing site-specific health challenges. Below are the detailed deliverables categorised into key service areas:
Assessment Services
· Health Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate workplace-specific health risks, including endemic diseases and occupational hazards.
· Medical Facility Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of on-site medical facilities to ensure adequacy and compliance with industry standards.
· Local Provider Mapping: Identify and validate local healthcare providers for both emergency and routine medical needs.
· Gap Analysis: Develop a roadmap to address deficiencies in site health services and prioritise key actions for improvement.
Advisory Services
· Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in drafting, evolving, and implementing health policies tailored to site operations.
· Corporate Health Programmes: Supervise and conduct workforce training on health promotion, awareness, and preparedness.
· Case Management Support: Advise HR and management on return-to-work strategies, fitness-to-work evaluations, and individual case management.
· Compliance Guidance: Ensure alignment with corporate health standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
Program Implementation & Continuous Support
· Health and Wellness Integration: Align health initiatives with corporate HSE and employee wellness objectives.
· Training and Capacity Building: Develop targeted training programs to address identified competency gaps.
· Corporate Sustainability: Align health initiatives with corporate ESG and sustainability goals.
· Ongoing Medical Advisory Support: Provide ongoing access to International SOS's medical expertise for advisory support.
Planning & Mitigation Services
· Health Plan Development: Craft site-specific health plans that incorporate surveillance, risk mitigation strategies, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
· Emergency Drills: Design and facilitate health and safety drills with actionable recommendations for improvement.
· Health Surveillance: Monitor emerging health risks and provide recommendations to protect personnel and maintain business continuity.
Continuous Engagement
· Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with HR, HSE, and leadership to integrate health policies into corporate strategy.
· Data Analysis: Present data-driven recommendations to senior management for policy development and resource allocation.
· Ongoing Consultation: Provide access to International SOS's global medical resources for continuous health advisory support.

Required Qualifications (Brief description of the educational background needed to perform the job)
· A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with at least 3 years focused specifically on Occupational Medicine within high-risk or corporate industrial environments (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, mining).
· Diplomate / Fellow of the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) or an equivalent international board certification in Occupational Medicine is mandatory.
· Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), or equivalent emergency management training.
· Formal Training in Occupational Health, evidenced by completion of the 56-hour Postgraduate Course in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of the Philippines or an equivalent internationally recognized program.
· Certification in Auditing (e.g., ISO 45001, 9001) or Project Management is a distinct advantage.
· Evidence of continuous professional development in relevant fields such as corporate health, travel medicine, toxicology, emergency medicine, or health and safety management.
