Payroll Professional

The Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for approximately 600 multi-state union and non-union employees. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, working closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees and weekly off-cycle payrolls, including Davis-Bacon prevailing wages.
  • Process and audit timecards, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, bonuses, and final pay calculations.
  • Ensure approvals of time and pay exceptions by managers before processing.
  • Manage W-2s, year-end filings, and state tax withholdings setup.
  • Submit and audit files for DailyPay, Purchasing Power, and other payroll-related programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state payroll and leave laws, labor regulations per FLSA, and prevailing wage requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a multi-jurisdiction environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, accounting principles, and tax regulations.

This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage this critical function effectively.
