Accounting Expertise Required

Vault Cloud, the leading provider of secure cloud services to government and critical industries, is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to lead our financial accounting function.

  • We are looking for a highly experienced finance professional with a strong background in supporting Australian businesses, preferably with international operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in commerce and/or accounting, CPA qualification, and at least 10 years of experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager. They will also possess a deep understanding of Australian payroll and GST legislation, as well as experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable. You will also oversee key financial activities, including monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and R&D tax rebate submissions.

About the Role

  • Lead the financial accounting function: Take ownership of our end-to-end general ledger processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee key financial activities: Lead monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage all R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Enhance our financial systems: Drive continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
  • Manage external relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and timely.

Qualifications

  • Highly capable and experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting Australian businesses.
  • Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting an Australian based business (preferably with operations internationally).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with the management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast moving start-up / scale-up environment.
