Job Title:

A Junior Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of small business clients.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accounting system records, performing recurring bookkeeping processes, and creating schedules. Routine accounting procedures such as bank, credit card, and payroll account reconciliations, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), and other accounting-related functions are also performed.

Additional responsibilities include communicating open items or anomalies to staff accountants and following up to ensure items are fully resolved. The specialist will also examine bank transactions, flag unknown transactions to the accountant or accounting lead, and prepare journal entries with proper documentation of reconciliation items in work papers.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, reconciliation, and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation is also essential.
