Job Opportunity: Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to assist our team in meeting their responsibilities in a timely and accurate fashion.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review appeals for medical necessity, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Fax appeals to the appropriate party, verifying receipt confirmation.
  • Set reminders to follow up a week after the appeal is sent, guaranteeing on-time determinations.
  • Follow up again closer to the Time Allowance Threshold (TAT) for the determination; update the team accordingly.
  • Confirm in-network provider ability to service a new member, streamlining the enrollment process.
  • Attend weekly team meetings, completing assigned tasks as a dedicated reimbursement team member.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of college education, preferably in a field related to medical billing.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a medical practice dealing with billing, including provider credentialing, authorizations, reimbursement, etc. Involvement in Behavioral Health would be beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accompanied by above-average organizational skills, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Able to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, promoting efficient workflow.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration.
