Job Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our team in driving best practices, quality standards and innovation. They will be responsible for designing the architectural approach to support business objectives, identify risks and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive initiatives to improve technical quality and engineering processes
  • Design and implement well-tested and documented software solutions
  • Debug and fix issues encountered by users
  • Lead code and architectural reviews to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind
  • Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
  • Deploy and operate services developed by the team
  • Contribute to product success through technical advocacy
Requirements
  • Curate technical quality standards by designing the architectural approach to support business objectives
  • You value soft skills such as passion, thoughtfulness and self-motivation
  • An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
  • Drive and a track record of exceeding expectations
  • Well-organised, self-starting and able to deliver to schedule
  • Displays competency in researching new technology or approaches, and is able to tastefully integrate changes and modern approaches to technical projects
  • Provides comprehensive code review on items of any size within the project
  • An eye for accessibility and performance
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility and accountability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience with container tech such as LXD, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience fostering and maintaining a talented team by defining excellence
  • REST API design, development and governance
  • Performance engineering and security experience
