Debt Recovery Specialist

Job Description:

The Debt Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day debt recovery operations. This includes ensuring clients receive invoices and make payments according to agreed terms. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for building strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client interactions through effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analyze and monitor client accounts for overdue balances.
  • Make client contacts as per debt recovery strategy.
  • Utilize debt recovery tools and workflow to manage contacts.
  • Escalate debt recovery issues to management as needed.

Performance Objectives:

  • Client Relationships
    • Use a combination of communication tools to contact clients about outstanding debt issues.
    • Make decisions on next course of action based on case history and judgment.
    • Display a professional attitude when interacting with internal and external clients.
    • Negotiate payment and solutions when addressing client concerns, issues, and complaints.
  • Excellence
    • Analyze/monitor client A/R account balances for past due.
    • Make client contacts as per debt recovery strategy (e.g., comfort calls, emails, follow-ups).
    • Utilize debt recovery tools and workflow to manage contacts.
    • Escalate debt recovery issues to field finance managers and business as needed.
  • People
    • Actively support the team to ensure that debts are collected on a timely basis.
    • Interface with other teams to ensure compliance with cross-team responsibilities.

Qualifications:

The Requirements:
• 5+ years' experience working in debt recovery with excellent communication skills (at least 2 years in a specialist capacity).
• Experience of working in an environment communicating with English-speaking clients.
• Skilled in customer service interactions/ability to communicate with a professional image/customer-focused mindset through various channels.
