Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate verification of patient insurance coverage and authorizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of insurance verification specialists to achieve accuracy and timeliness in their tasks.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment conducive to achieving team goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized procedures for insurance verification, overseeing and participating in the verification process to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Support team members in resolving insurance-related inquiries and discrepancies, communicating with insurance companies as needed to obtain authorizations and resolve authorization-related issues.
  • Collaborate with billing and coding teams to address insurance-related claim rejections and denials, investigating and resolving discrepancies in insurance coverage and billing information.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure team members are proficient in insurance verification procedures and software, identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development among team members.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of college coursework or experience, with knowledge in Healthcare Operations specifically Prior Authorization.
  • Leadership experience, with effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive identification of challenges, solution-oriented approach to problem solving, and self-directed accountability and reliability.
  • Professional, effective communications skills, able to calmly present solutions in challenging situations.
Competencies
  • Service-orientation, aptitude to utilize proper listening skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects, work autonomously, and meet deadlines.
  • Able to communicate using both verbal and written English proficiency, with an inclusive mindset that values diversity of thought, experience, and background.
