Job Role

A Tax and Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all accountabilities and reportorial requirements in project financing and/or loan covenants are met. This includes preparing compliance periodical reports to lenders, interim financial statements, and loan covenant compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures timely submission of periodic reports and documents to regulatory bodies.
  • Prepares tax reports such as VAT, EWT, ITR, and other taxes due to the government.
  • Assists in drafting correspondence with lenders, BIR, BOI, SEC, DOE, or LGU.
  • Monitors timely payment of payables to suppliers, contractors, or government institutions.
  • Prepares account schedules and reconciliations for tax audits and related inquiries.
  • Assists in compliance audits and day-to-day compliance, providing feedback to management.
  • Prepares monthly and special reports on status of BIR audits, VAT claims, and court cases relating to taxes.
  • Assists in timely filing of administrative claims for VAT refunds and judicial claims.
  • Ensures complete documentation required for VAT claims and monitoring of VAT claim status.
  • Converts Tax Credit Certificates into Tax Debit Memos and applies against company tax liabilities.
  • Ensures timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other applicable tax types) and timely remittance of corresponding tax amounts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
  • Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team.
  • At least one year of taxation experience.
