Trade Spend Accountant Role

This position is designed to drive client value by providing financial support through distributor/retailer back-up retrieval, collections, and transaction processing.

The ideal candidate has lived on the front lines of Small to Midsize Business (SMB) helping these companies better understand, optimize, and analyze trade spend dollars.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work with the AR Manager to build a scalable platform that supports deductions reconciliation, including identifying trends and opportunities for the client based on expense settlements.
  • Follow established procedures to determine whether an expense is authorized or unauthorized.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for different tasks within the department.
  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the deductions process.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Trade Promotion Management
  • A background or education in Accounting
  • Deductions, collections, reconciliations, and general trade finance experience required
  • CPG Industry experience required
  • Technical prowess with SaaS products preferred, including Excel, PowerPoint, G-Suite
  • Experience working in a start-up and comfortable with change
  • Business level English fluency required
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with TPM software an added bonus
