
External Application Support Specialist

This role is part of a team providing support for external applications. As an External Application Support Analyst, you will offer 2nd line support and ensure the proper functioning of 3rd party applications with 24 x 5.5 coverage.
Main Responsibilities:- Proactive management of business-critical real-time systems, identifying issues and potential problem areas.
- Collaboration with internal IT support functions; Infrastructure, Development, Quality Assurance, Operations, and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents.
- Incident identification and resolution, including service recovery while managing client communications and expectations.
- Ensuring compliance with departmental policies (i.e., change management, IT security standards, release management, incident management).
- Providing services according to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Working through Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Maintaining accurate documentation for all systems and processes.
- Contributing to technology strategy with input from the business.
- Responsible for trading system, middle office, and back office system upgrades, including testing, implementation, and support of the established infrastructure.

Technical skills include knowledge of Electronic Trading Systems, Middle Office applications, and Back Office / Settlement Systems, database interrogation and manipulation, Microsoft Applications (Windows Server/Client), UNIX / LINUX, FIX Protocol, ServiceNow, and Equities, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, and Fixed Income markets.
Requirements:- Experience working in an ITIL environment (ideally with ITIL certification).
- Support experience for Production Applications on both Unix and Windows environments.
- Extensive experience supporting Front Office Trading Applications, Middle Office, Back Office, and Settlements systems.
- Degree-level education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
