Medical billers play a vital role in the healthcare industry, responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely reimbursement of medical expenses. As a skilled professional in this field, you will coordinate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to submit claims and follow up on denied claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies for claim submission and follow-up
  • Generate revenue by making payment arrangements and collecting delinquent accounts
  • Collect outstanding balance payments from patients and secure their information
  • Maintain Medicare bad-debt cost reports and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and process payments accordingly
  • Handle denied claims and appeals, as well as reconcile payments and post them to patients' accounts
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as a US medical AR specialist
  • Familiarity with Firenote EMR and knowledge in hospice
