Financial Leadership Role

The Financial Controller is a pivotal position that requires an accomplished and experienced professional to oversee financial operations across the organization. This critical role necessitates a strong background in accounting, finance, and tax, with expertise in inter-company transactions, group consolidation, and Australian tax compliance.

Key responsibilities include managing entity-level and group-wide financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls for each entity, as well as ensuring timely collection of revenue and managing accounts payable.

Additionally, the Financial Controller will record entity-specific transactions and adjust P/L and B/S movements, adhering to AASB standards. They will implement authorisation controls for entity expenses, manage expense processes via Budgetly, and approve vendor and contractor payments.

Further responsibilities include establishing financial controls for procurement, preparing quarterly BAS and annual returns for each entity, and providing financial insights for entity decision-making. The Financial Controller will also develop and approve budgets for each entity, track and analyze entity-specific budget variances, and conduct scenario analysis for entity cash flow needs.

Requirements for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA or CA certification, and a minimum of 7 years in financial management with at least 3 years of experience working within a multi-entity group structure. Experience in media, entertainment, or event-based industries is highly preferred.

Technical skills required for this position include advanced proficiency in Xero or similar ERP systems, familiarity with expense management tools, and strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets, particularly for group-level modelling and forecasting.
