Job Overview

The Technical Specialist, Project Management role provides project management services to support the delivery of routine to moderately complex infrastructure and environmental projects. They act as a technical specialist for clients and may undertake research and conduct studies and assessments.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and preparing documentation required for long-term projects (e.g. approvals, statements of work, project charters, budgets, policies and procedures)
  • Completing project management from initiation to closure for infrastructure and environmental projects, including new construction, recapitalization, and environmental assessment and remediation
  • Supporting client project approval processes by facilitating decision making within client organizations through the development of business case analysis, functional space programming, and other documentation
  • Coordinating stakeholder communications to ensure timely decision making
  • Participating in procurement planning and preparing tender documents
  • Coordinating consultant activities
  • Acting as the representative of the project director or project manager, within delegated signing authority
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships within Defence Construction Canada, and with industry, clients, and/or stakeholders
  • Ensuring quality standards are met, in line with corporate and client expectations
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Preparing monthly reports (e.g. internal, client)
  2. Supporting and/or leading business development activities
  3. Managing risk
  4. Other duties as assigned
