Key Financial Management Position

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead our financial accounting function. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and have extensive experience in managing financial activities, including general ledger processes, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.

The successful candidate will oversee key financial activities such as monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage R&D tax rebate submissions. Additionally, they will drive continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.

This role is completely remote, offering the flexibility to work from home. The candidate will work closely with our leadership team to provide critical financial insights that drive our business forward.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial accounting function: Take full ownership of our end-to-end general ledger processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee key financial activities: Lead monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage all R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Enhance our financial systems: Drive continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
Qualifications
  • Highly capable and experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting businesses.
  • Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting a business (preferably with international operations).
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with the management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast moving start-up / scale-up environment.
