Job Summary

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage engagement work, build strong client relationships and contribute to firm growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of assigned files and manage engagement work from planning through completion with minimal supervision
  • Develop and maintain strong client connections by understanding client business models
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings and contribute to engagement strategy with input from senior team members
  • Review prior year files and draft preparatory client questions
  • Prepare compiled financial statements, note disclosures where applicable, and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare internal-use-only financial statements
  • Monitor deadlines for tax filings, bank reporting and other key deliverables
  • Prepare HST/GST returns, WSIB annual returns and EHT returns
  • Perform GL account reviews for reasonability and accurate allocations
  • Reconcile Canadian investment accounts and track tax-reporting data for capital assets
  • Respond to inquiries regarding assessments and client accounts

  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve workflow and client service
  • Actively participate in firm-wide improvement initiatives
