Virtual Medical Assistant Job

This part-time position is available to work in a remote setting with a physical therapy practice in California. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Virtual Assistant in a healthcare setting.

Job Description

The role involves confirming patient appointments, managing the appointment calendar, and handling patient inquiries via phone and email. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Additionally, you will coordinate daily schedules with medical staff to optimize patient care and therapist efficiency.

You will ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times, handle appointment rescheduling efficiently, and manage referrals from other healthcare providers. Your tasks will also include verifying insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations, and updating patient files with insurance information. You will explain benefits to patients as needed and liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage details and resolve issues.

In this role, you will provide virtual assistance to patients, answering calls and assisting with inquiries effectively. You will prepare documents, manage email correspondence professionally, and perform data entry tasks as required. You will also maintain a waitlist for appointments and assist in creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improved practice efficiency.
