Virtual Mental Health Coder and Biller Specialist

We are seeking a top performer to join our team as a Virtual Mental Health Coder and Biller Specialist. This role requires a strong background in medical coding, billing, and reimbursement, with a focus on psychiatry and mental health services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding medical diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.

This is a remote opportunity that allows for flexibility and work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other staff.

  • Code Assignment: Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient diagnoses and procedures based on clinical documentation within electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Coding Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Billing and Revenue Cycle: Work closely with billing staff to resolve coding-related claim denials and rejections, assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures, and perform audits of medical records to identify and correct coding errors.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a psychiatry or mental health setting.

  • Proficiency in using EHR and medical billing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
