Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

The role of a mental health specialist plays a vital part in ensuring psychological safety, emotional resilience, and overall well-being within the workplace.

This position involves delivering one-on-one sessions, facilitating small-group sessions, providing timely support for urgent wellbeing needs, and leading training focused on resilience, healthy coping, and distress management.

Key ResponsibilitiesIndividual Well-Being Sessions
  • Conduct monthly or on-demand 1:1 well-being sessions to foster a supportive environment.
  • Provide same-day crisis intervention support in response to urgent wellbeing needs to ensure employee well-being.
  • Incorporate stress-reduction techniques, coping strategies, and decision-making skills into sessions to enhance employee resilience.
Group Sessions
  • Facilitate monthly small-group sessions focusing on peer support in a psychologically safe space to promote healthy working relationships and social connection.
  • Tailor sessions based on team dynamics, feedback from supervisors, or insights gained by the wellbeing team to cater to the specific needs of employees.
Training & Development
  • Deliver group training sessions including onboarding, well-being, and resiliency training, and annual refresher training to equip employees with essential skills.
  • Facilitate additional approved ad-hoc training sessions as requested, aligned with organizational needs to ensure employee development.
  • Ensure all training is delivered within prescribed timeframes and formats provided by the organization to maintain consistency.
Observation & Support
  • Conduct daily floor walks to monitor and address employee wellbeing and provide necessary support.
