Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks with a focus on accounts payable. This includes handling invoices, manual check applications, aging reports, and account reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and paying bills and invoices
  • Reconciling company accounts and preparing financial statements
  • Assisting with month-end closing and account reconciliations
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies in financial data
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Providing support to the accounting team as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–2 years of experience in accrual-based accounting, including AR, journal entries, month-end close, and bank reconciliations
  • Dependable with a track record of regular and reliable attendance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to interact across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • High attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; organized and able to prioritize independently
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
