We are seeking a skilled Payroll Tax Expert to provide tax support services in multiple areas, including accurate payroll tax submissions, W2/YE balancing, and customer communication. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of auditing techniques, as well as experience working with clients in high-volume, multi-state environments.

Responsibilities
  • Critical Support Services: Respond promptly to customer inquiries via our CRM tool, resolving issues in accordance with team guidelines.
  • Risk Mitigation: Assess customer health using our defined process to ensure any potential risks to the business are mitigated effectively.
  • Payroll Tax Compliance: Thoroughly review and audit payroll commits to guarantee employees are taxed correctly.
  • Tax Adjustments: Collaborate with customers and internal payroll teams to process accurate payroll tax adjustments.
  • Audit Reviews: Conduct regular audits to verify customers' wages and rates are accurate.
  • Pre-funding Requests: Assist customers with timely pre-funding requests for stock transactions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • W-4 Form Management: Review monthly W-4 form exemptions to perform reasonability checks for customers' employees.
  • Tax Compliance Changes: Stay up-to-date on tax changes and work closely with customers to ensure alignment.
  • Quarter/Year-End Balancing: Perform quarterly and year-end audits to balance customers' and employees' taxes, preventing errors.
  • Tax Code Fallouts: Regularly review tax code fallouts, work with customers to register accounts with applicable agencies, and reconcile withheld deposits.
  • Amendment Requests: Work with customers and internal partners to process amendments promptly.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience required, with 5+ years preferred in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desired.
  • Certifications: FPC or CPP certification is required, or a commitment to obtain within two years of employment.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, time management skills, and analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

This role requires a deep understanding of payroll and tax compliance principles, as well as the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
