We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Business Development Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities that align with our organization's goals.
About the JobThis is a key position within our organization, reporting directly to the Business Development Director. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Local Fundraising
- Develop and implement local fundraising strategies and resource development plans.
- Work closely with colleagues to identify and analyze funding opportunities from corporates, individuals, and grant-giving organizations.
- Support the Business Development Manager in identifying and analyzing opportunities in-country and scope potential partnerships.
- Collaborate with other teams to produce documents and reports required for permissions and registrations.
- Lead and/or support in writing proposals from concept note stage to full proposal stage.
- Ensure business processes are in place to ensure quality proposal development in compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Maintain proactive, coordinated, and strategic engagement with potential and existing donors.
- Identify key stakeholders and networks relevant to local funding opportunities.
- Support the Business Development Manager in creating, maintaining, and sustaining strategic partnerships with civil society, corporates/businesses, I/NGOs, UN, and government entities.
- Ensure timely submission of quality donor reports.
- At least 4 years' experience in business development and grants proposal writing and management, preferably in an international development organization.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and donor relationship management in the local and/or international setting.
- Demonstrated experience in acquiring grants/awards envelope of USD 50,000.00 to 100,000.00.
- Excellent presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, with familiarity in using Microsoft Office suite applications (particularly Word and PowerPoint).
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships.
- Ability to work in a flexible arrangement, independently, and with minimal supervision.
- Organized, detail-oriented, team player, self-starter, and results-oriented individual.
- English fluency.
- Bachelor's degree in any related field.
- Experience in fundraising, investor relations, marketing or closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience would be considered.
- Master's degree in business management, marketing, social development, or any related field is an asset.
