Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to support our company's rapid growth by taking ownership of our financial accounting function.

This role is unique and strategic, as you'll shape our finance department and build key processes supporting our company's expansion.

You will work closely with our leadership team to provide critical financial insights driving our business forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial accounting function: Take full ownership of end-to-end general ledger processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee key financial activities: Lead monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Enhance financial systems: Drive continuous improvement of financial policies and procedures, ensuring systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
  • Manage external relationships: Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
Requirements
  • A highly capable and experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting Australian businesses.
  • A bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting an Australian based business.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
