Accounting Operations Manager Job

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, overseeing day-to-day operations for multiple U.S. clients.

Lead full-cycle month-end closes, manage close processes, and interact regularly with clients.

Collaborate with Finance and Accounting Leads for oversight and mentorship, expanding into areas like People Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis.

Encourage innovation and creativity, welcoming new ideas and projects that challenge the status quo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Management: Review invoices, provide guidance, and oversee 1099 checks quarterly.
  • Accounts Receivable and Cash Management: Oversee AR cycle, review cash flow forecasts, communicate changes, monitor cash flow, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Daily Bookkeeping: Manage weekly transaction cycles and maintain data room organization.
  • People Management: Facilitate staff transitions, review payroll processing, and approve payroll in accordance with clients' schedules.
  • Month End Close Procedures: Review bank and credit card reconciliations, lead month-end close procedures, review balance sheet schedules, investigate variances, make journal entries, perform flux analysis, and document findings.
  • Compliance and Communication: Work cross-functionally, maintain communication with clients and team, respond to inquiries, and celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • 5+ years of relevant U.S. work experience.
  • CPA and/or MBA a plus.
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, or similar systems required.
  • Advanced Excel skills necessary.
  • Experience in eCommerce highly preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment, plan ahead, anticipate needs, and balance multiple priorities.
