We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff with expertise in business strategy development and proposal writing to join our dynamic team. The Chief of Staff will work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, facilitate decision-making processes, and oversee the development of proposals for new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of crafting compelling proposals, analyzing market trends, and developing strategic plans to drive business growth. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the company's strategic objectives and initiatives
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscapes
- Develop comprehensive business strategies and action plans to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve organizational goals
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals in response to RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFIs (Request for Information), and other business opportunities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information, develop compelling value propositions, and create customized solutions for clients
- Ensure that proposals are well-written, strategically sound, and aligned with the company's business objectives and capabilities
- Manage the proposal process from initiation to submission, including coordinating reviews, addressing feedback, and meeting deadlines
- Provide strategic support to the CEO and other senior executives, including conducting research, preparing presentations, and facilitating meetings
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations to inform decision-making and drive organizational success
- Act as a liaison between senior leadership and various departments to ensure effective communication and execution of strategic initiatives
- Manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership, overseeing project plans, timelines, and resources to ensure successful execution
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment on key initiatives
- Track progress against goals, identify potential risks or obstacles, and proactively develop solutions to mitigate challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Proven experience (5+ years) in business strategy development, proposal writing, and project management, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and compelling proposals and presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant business software
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus across diverse teams
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and initiative
- Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and proposal management software
- Knowledge of industry best practices in business development, proposal writing, and strategic planning
- Familiarity with government contracting processes and requirements (for proposals targeting government clients)
