JOB TITLE: Technical Assistant – for Construction & Design Projects

(With Development Track to Technical Officer Role)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Assistant provides foundational support for construction and design service operations and is being trained toward a future role as a Technical Officer. This role involves assisting in project monitoring, permit processing, and learning project design interpretation.

The role requires fieldwork, close coordination with contractors and suppliers, and continuous documentation of site progress. It also includes active learning and exposure to architectural and engineering drawings, with the aim of fully understanding project implementation standards and being able to conduct close, independent monitoring over time.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Project Monitoring – Build Service Support

• Assist in daily/weekly monitoring of active construction projects to ensure that works are proceeding based on the approved plans and the owner's expectations.

• Coordinate with site contractors to record and monitor actual accomplishments, work timelines, materials, and issues encountered.

• Track deliverables and update site logs for each assigned project.

• Document physical completion progress through photos and written reports.

B. Pre-Construction & Open Project Tracking

• Monitor planning and mobilization timelines for projects that are pending or yet to begin.

• Ensure that projected schedules for project start and completion are documented and aligned with company targets.

• Assist in communicating with relevant departments to follow up on start-up requirements.

C. Permit Liaison (Partial)

• Assist in processing Building Permits, Occupancy Permits and other documents for projects that do not include in services on the contractor's scope.

• Coordinate with local government units (LGUs), fire safety bureaus, zoning offices, and other required regulatory bodies when needed.

• Organize and monitor permit logs per project site.

D. Learning and Design Support

• Participate in technical walkthroughs and drawing reviews led by the Project Manager,

• Design Team or Contractor.

• Show initiative in understanding project blueprints (floor plans, elevations, structural and Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing drawings).

• Learn how to cross-reference actual works versus drawings as part of project monitoring development.

E. Reporting and Documentation

• Submit project reports regularly (daily/weekly/monthly) as directed.

• Maintain site documentation, permit folders, contractor files, and relevant correspondence.

• Assist the Project Manager in preparing summary reports, punch lists, and milestone validations.

F. General Support Duties

• Participate in internal meetings and contractor coordination.

• Respond promptly to tasks and follow-through items assigned by the Project Manager.

• Support in logistics, material tracking, and other administrative duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of a technical/vocational course or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or related field.

• No professional license required but must be technically inclined and willing to learn.

• Preferably with 1 year of related work experience (site monitoring, project support, or admin in construction or other work related in documentation).

• Has basic knowledge or strong interest in architectural/engineering plans.

• Familiar with MS Excel, Word, and Google Workspace; knowledge in AutoCAD is a plus.

• Willing to work on a flexible schedule depending on the demands of the assigned site or project.
