Job Summary

The Merchandising Managerplays a key role in forecasting, buying, and allocating merchandise across our retail stores. This position is responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that drive sales, achieve assortment goals, and meet margin targets—while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The role also involves leading supplier negotiations, supporting product development, identifying emerging trends and sourcing opportunities, and presenting strategic recommendations to top management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Merchandise Planning & Buying:Develops seasonal merchandising strategies, forecasts sales and margins, manages OTB plans, and leads product assortment and vendor negotiations.
  • Inventory & Assortment Management:Monitors sell-through, manages inventory levels, and implements pricing and promotional strategies to optimize product performance across channels.
  • Market Intelligence & Vendor Relations:Conducts market research, store visits, and competitor benchmarking to inform buying decisions and identify new trends and supplier opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:Analyzes promotional effectiveness, ensures accurate reporting, and coordinates with internal teams on order fulfillment and pricing.
  • People Management & Training:Supervises and mentors merchandising staff, supports workload planning, and facilitates product training to strengthen team capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or category management
  • Strong skills in negotiation, planning, analysis, and communication
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin or Fookien language proficiency is an advantage
  • Willing to travel for store visits, supplier meetings, and warehouse inspections
