Your impact

As a Sales Operations Professional, you will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process to help position Jacobs to win world-defining projects. The best approach and style of our submissions will form a key part of this role, with a strong emphasis on the quality and presentation of each submission. Autonomy is a given, but the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines is important for success in this environment.

You should have a successful track record in completing bids in engineering, professional services, or a business-to-business environment. Your skills should include developing account plans, pursuit plans, bid strategy and structure, as well as message creation and presentation development. Relationship building and strong communication are critical for this role, as you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts, Client Account Managers, and the Operations team to undertake necessary market research to develop winning value propositions and submissions.

We are currently looking for a Bids & Pursuits Professional. This role will provide opportunity and bid leadership for specific complex proposals, client accounts, or new services. The Bids & Pursuits Professional will support the Regional Sales Operations Director and Team Leaders to instill an inclusive culture within the team that values diversity of thought and lives Jacobs' Culture of Caring. You need to be effective at bringing the ideas of others to market, have good judgment about which ideas work, and be able to manage the work-winning and creative process of others.

Role Summary:

As a Bids & Pursuits Professional, you will facilitate and lead the application of the end-to-end Relationship-Based Sales (RBS) process to help position Jacobs to win specific projects, programs, and develop meaningful client relationships. You will focus on specific opportunities, client accounts, or new services that contribute to overall growth for our region in partnership with our Outside Sales Market Directors. You will advocate and implement our bespoke process. Autonomy is expected, but the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Collaboration and challenging the Sales Lead and Capture Manager/Operations in developing distinctive value propositions that enhance our customers' competitive position is essential. You will leverage our global network to identify and present Jacobs' unique capabilities and resources. Organizing, directing, and motivating multidiscipline opportunity teams to develop sales deliverables for specific proposals to grow the business is a key responsibility.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or any technical/related discipline from a college or university.
  • Significant and relevant job experience and performance may be accepted in lieu of degree-level education.
  • Quick comprehension and critical, analytical thinking skills to connect the dots and generate insightful ideas to continually and sustainably achieve work and client satisfaction.
  • Ability to facilitate teams in developing and maturing fit-for-purpose, client-centric solutions in all submissions and external deliverables.
  • Organized with heightened attention to detail; able to effectively harness others' strengths and expertise to deliver desired outcomes, working well with all types and levels of people. Excellent writing and editing skills with an eye towards sales messaging, themes, proposal aesthetics, quality, and content. Flexibility and capability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Excellent English verbal and written professional communication skills.
