JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Program Officer (Business Development) of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) will focus on project proposal development, writing, resource generation, strategic partnerships, and donor compliance. This role involves developing comprehensive strategies for funding and donor relations to ensure the successful implementation of PBSP's initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, a deep understanding of the development sector, and the ability to cultivate high-level relationships with donors and partners. The Business Development Officer will consistently work with the Operations team to develop project proposals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Proposal Development and Writing:
    1. Lead the preparation and writing of high-quality project proposals and grant applications.
    2. Conduct research and analysis to identify funding opportunities and align proposals with donor priorities.
    3. Collaborate with program teams to gather necessary information, data, and inputs for proposal development.
    4. Ensure proposals are compelling, well-structured, and compliant with donor requirements and guidelines.
    5. Edit and review proposals to ensure accuracy, coherence, and alignment with PBSP's mission and goals.
    6. Maintain a database of proposal submissions, outcomes, and feedback for continuous improvement.
    7. Consistently work with the Relationship Management Team to develop comprehensive and competitive project proposals.
  • Resource Generation and Strategic Partnerships:
    1. Assess funding requirements of programs and lead the formulation of comprehensive resource mobilization and business development strategies and plans.
    2. Ensure effective implementation of these plans to generate project funding support.
    3. Develop and nurture high-level relationships with donors and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and collaboration.
    4. Lead the initiation and collaboration on multi-sectoral initiatives supportive of assigned programs.
    5. Mobilize resources for proposed and/or ongoing programs/projects by identifying appropriate donors, preparing and/or editing proposals, and negotiating for approval.
    6. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships to expand the program portfolio and support organizational growth.
  • Donor Compliance:
    1. Ensure all programs and projects comply with donor requirements and guidelines.
    2. Maintain comprehensive records of donor communications, agreements, and compliance reports.
    3. Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to donor expectations and regulations.
    4. Provide training and support to project teams to ensure understanding and compliance with donor standards.
  • General Administration of Programs:
    1. Establish program/project management standards, tools, and technologies, and facilitate sharing these with relevant stakeholders.
    2. Review program/project documents to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
    3. Consolidate lessons learned from program/project management to inform program/project design and development, program strategies, and plans.
    4. Support the tracking of program impact to generate target setting for the next fiscal year and a five-year impact target projection.
    5. Review and package assigned project reports (e.g., quarterly, annual, terminal) for submission to clients, donors, and for internal PBSP use.
    6. Perform other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time by management.
