Korean Sales Assistant Manager

SUMMARY:

Coordinating with tour agents and group organizers to maximize room nights and revenue, communicate with Food and Beverage, SEA and group organizers to assist any group functions or events. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. PIC cannot accommodate unpredictable or sporadic absenteeism, unless covered by federal/state law.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Maintain good relations with land operators to get their support for PIC and pick up group business.

2. Conduct site inspections/show rooms for group organizers or tour agents

3. Coordinate group arrival by room blockage with F/D and Reservations.

4. Work closely with F&B and SEA to make sure group events goes well.

5. Analyze KO productions and planning for promotions when needed with PHR Korea.

6. Deliver special event or news as to our property to sales office in Korea.

7. Send 3 months forecast to PHR Korea regularly in order to control PIC PICK.

8. Introduce new promotions made by PHR Korea to other departments and making standard of procedures as needed.

9. Share market news and coordinating big group visiting with GVB.

10. Work with GVB to introduce PIC Guam to Korea and providing materials to GVB as needed.

11. Work with GVB to get monthly or yearly arrival figures on Guam.

12. Work closely with Front Desk and Reservations to control room availability and deciding close dates for Korean agency.

13. Take care of Korean FIT room inquires such as airline employees, FIT, and VIPs.

14. Work with airline and Front desk for layover flights.

15. Provide services for Korean VIPSs who stay at PIC.

16. Assist Korean PR and Marketing Manager with handling Media crew such as filming, photo shooting to expose PIC well and providing PIC news to those. Receive Production and submit to the Sales Director & Public Relation Director.

17. Translate English into Korean for internal memos, F&B menus, guest surveys, SEA events, and other inquiries as needed.

18. Function as an interpreter for guests.

19. Monitor guests' survey and discussing about issues with Director of Sales to improve our service.

20. Address guests; complaints and handle upset guests as needed.

21. Control materials and supplies that have been used in Korean Market.

22. Pick up Korean VIPs and greeting group arrival as needed.

23. Attend fairs in Korea, S&M meeting, and yield meeting.

24. Submit monthly report to the Sales & Marketing Director.

25. Perform other related duties as directed by, the Director of Sales, or the General Manager.

26. Conduct the Korean Market Sales Manager's duties during his/her absence.

27. Train interns to work with the Korean market.

28. Ensures/maintains cleanliness and upkeep of PIC property (picking up loose trash, material and debris and disposing of it in appropriate trash receptacles provided)

The individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

ORAL COMMUNICATION:

The individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION:

The individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a timely manner. Ability to speak, read, and write the Korean language in a manner appropriate to the hospitality industry. Business English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher. Proficiency in Ceridian, and any other applications that may be used in the daily operations of the Sales & Marketing Department.
