Overview

Java Developer #2 (Mid-Senior) role at DOXA Talent.

Location: Colombia - Remote. Language: Advanced English (B2/C1+). Timezone: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, follows Colombian holidays.

Experience: 4-7 years of professional Java development experience.

Role notes: This position focuses on building scalable enterprise applications that serve millions of users using modern Java development, cloud architecture, and enterprise-grade software solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance, scalable Java applications using Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Implement and maintain microservices architecture on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmap planning.
Qualifications
  • 4-7 years of professional Java development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Spring Boot framework and Spring ecosystem (Security, Data JPA, Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL optimization.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial services industry experience (banking, payments, trading, or fintech).
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements (PCI DSS, SOX, etc.).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack, DataDog).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding standards.
  • Experience with performance testing and optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
