Responsibilities
  • Full cycle accounting and finance responsibilities.
  • Prepare balance sheets, monthly statements of income and cash flow for the company and properties for internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare the monthly close out including internal billbacks for overhead expenses across the organization.
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare budgets by creating schedules, analyzing, collecting and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, initiating corrective actions and analyzing variances.
  • Analyze cost controls, cash flow, expenses and effectively communicate to management to identify areas for improvement and action.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and construction draw processes.
  • Understand accounting principles and the accounting requirements of real estate organizations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual taxes and audit processes with outside CPA firms.
  • Other duties as directed and assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in real estate, finance, business or accounting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics F&SC is required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in multifamily real estate development or related field preferred.
