Job Description The Local Security Assistant will provide support to enable IOM's activities and assist the Head of Zamboanga Office with all security-related aspects of field operations. Responsibilities: Maintain effective working relationships with country United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) office, host government agencies, and local authorities responsible for security. Assist the Head of Zamboanga Office in collecting, updating, and communicating information regarding the security situation in the Philippines. Support the Head of Zamboanga Office in the development and implementation of IOM Country Office-specific security plans. Provide support in conducting security surveys of offices in IOM Philippines. Support the effective management of the Zamboanga Office Warden system. Ensure that all safety and security communications equipment is functioning and in good condition. Assist in reporting security incidents affecting IOM personnel, premises, assets, and operational activities in the Philippines. Qualifications: University degree in Security, Social Sciences, International Studies, Communications, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience. Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience. Skills: Ability to collaborate with senior government security counterparts and relevant stakeholders. Ability to work effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Excellent oral and written skills. Languages: IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish. For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Teamwork: Develops and promotes effective collaboration within and across units to achieve shared goals and optimize results. Delivering results: Produces and delivers quality results in a service-oriented and timely manner. Managing and sharing knowledge: Continuously seeks to learn, share knowledge, and innovate. Accountability: Takes ownership for achieving the Organization's priorities and assumes responsibility for own actions and delegated work.
