Data Migration Specialist

The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for supporting the transition of content, data, and digital assets and files across platforms. This role bridges technical accuracy, website content management, and project coordination, ensuring a seamless migration process that maintains data integrity and user experience.

What does a day in the life of a Data Migration Specialist look like?

  • Verify migrated data for accuracy, consistency, and functionality across platforms
  • Accurately transfer data, website content, and digital assets from one system to another
  • Use basic HTML and CSS knowledge to locate video links, HEX codes, and other content within site source code
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms to support migration workflows
  • Manage multiple migration projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing clear updates on project status and issues
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Meet or exceed performance targets for related KPIs
  • Continuously improve knowledge of products, services, and processes by participating in training programs and continuous learning modules
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What are the required qualifications for a Data Migration Specialist?

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in data or content migration between platforms
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Detail-oriented, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in using computers and various software applications
