Job Description As an Assistant Accountant, you will provide end-to-end financial support, from bank reconciliations to reporting and process improvements. Visit ) Free 24/7 access to our office gyms (Ortigas and Makati) with a free physical fitness trainer Exclusive Emapta Lifestyle perks (hotel and restaurant discounts, and more) Unlimited opportunities for employee referral incentives across the organization Standard government and Emapta benefits 15 Leave credits consumed at your discretion with up to 15 days commutable to cash Fun engagement activities for employees Mentorship and exposure to global leaders and teams Career growth opportunities Diverse and supportive work environment The Qualifications We Seek Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (desirable) CPA/CA qualification or currently working towards certification 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role Experience with XERO (preferred) Understanding of the employee life cycle for the client Knowledge of recruitment and workplace health and safety policies and procedures Experience in a similar position (highly desirable) Payroll experience (highly desirable but can be taught on the job) Experience in a construction, labor hire, or similar environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online applications, and recruitment databases Strong accounting skills (required) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of computer literacy Experience with Microsoft and Google Applications in a business setting Keen attention to detail Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment Strong communication skills, including with remote staff Effective time management and ability to prioritize based on impact Your Daily Tasks Provide dedicated support to the Financial Controller in preparing financial accounts, data entry, monitoring debtor and creditor payments and receipts, bank reconciliations, cash flows, and assisting with month-end and year-end account preparation Provide support to the Head of Finance and Assistant Accountant in preparing financial accounts, data entry, monitoring debtor and creditor payments and receipts, bank reconciliations, cash flows, and assisting with month-end and year-end account preparation Ensure all industry payments are processed and lodged according to guidelines, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Incolink, CoInvest, Protect, and WorkCover Process payments and invoices accurately and within required time frames Assist with the preparation of invoicing claim statements Undertake month-end reconciliations and reporting requirements Update weekly cash flow and submit payments for approval Reconcile deposits and remittances, analyze aged receivables, and follow up on outstanding debtors Collaborate with the Financial Controller to verify financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, make corrections where appropriate, and prepare regular accounting reports on company financial progress Reconcile monthly credit card statements and input receipts in XERO Maintain strong knowledge of XERO, demonstrate competent Excel skills, and use front-end CRM systems when required General Live and demonstrate the company\u2019s people and brand values Participate in project work, meetings, and monthly 1:1 discussions Maintain confidentiality standards across the business Support induction programs for new starters Act as "buddy support" to new starters when required Attend training sessions and meetings as organized Assist team members when required Support process improvements and prepare policy and procedure documentation as needed Participate in and promote a culturally safe workforce About the Client Building Better Careers Through Smart Workforce Solutions Our client is a trusted HR and recruitment firm in Australia, connecting top professionals to leading industries, including construction and labor hire.
