Overview

Job Summary: Accountable for the planning function on allocated project/ tender. Accountable for ensuring that projects/ tenders are effectively planned, scheduled and monitored. Supports Project Management function in delivery of the project/ tender, as required, ensuring they are delivered on time and profitably. Responsible for the planning of medium to high complexity projects, a portfolio of projects or sections of larger projects.

Responsibilities
  • Leads application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools.
  • Develop the WBS and alignment of other Breakdown structures.
  • Develop the WBS dictionary in support of the Baseline book.
  • Advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Play a key role in multidisciplinary teams and lead in creating plans or analyzing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals delivering planning/schedule management services and responsible for staff development.
  • Produce and control cost and resource loaded baseline and current schedule, utilizing approved work breakdown structures and techniques.
  • Adhere to scheduling and project control standards across the project.
  • Oversee and ensure schedules are updated to an agreed timeframe.
  • Support cost control, risk and change management teams where appropriate.
  • Support the production of monthly reports through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.
  • Produce analysis of trends, generate performance indicators and provide feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
  • Analyse and integrate schedules provided by contractors and suppliers.
  • Establish and foster working relationships with all appropriate stakeholders pursuant to the discharge of responsibilities or in aid of theirs.
  • Liaise with other departments and foster and practice client team values.
  • Support schedule management and reporting for the program – including cost and earned value reporting and management.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider Project Controls function to develop the capability of the team using knowledge from wider experience.
  • Adhere to the current monthly Project Controls cycle and processes and support with any future development.
  • Good working knowledge of planning/scheduling, EVM, and project controls methodologies.
Technical Expertise
  • Highly developed Primavera P6 skills.
  • Strong competence and proven ability in Planning & Schedule Management.
  • Proven facilitation/presenting skills.
  • Experience working in large projects/programs.
  • Good communication skills.
