Overview

Junior Accountant (New Zealand Experience - Remote) at TOA Global. Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PHT. Experience Required: Minimum 1-2 years in a New Zealand accounting firm.

What you'll do
  • Tax knowledge including preparation of tax returns, activity statements, and awareness of latest New Zealand tax rules
  • Preparation of work papers and reconciliation to financial statement stage
  • Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and other lodgements for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses
  • Assist with general bookkeeping duties
  • Assist clients with tax planning, GST, bookkeeping
  • Business advisory projects such as budgets, cashflows, management reporting
  • Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with the organization\'s compliance requirements
What we're looking for
  • Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting
  • Completed or working towards completion of CA / CPA
  • At least 1-2 years accounting & taxation experience within New Zealand
  • Basic understanding of New Zealand and/or taxation legislation, including GST, FBT, Companies Act
  • Ability to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Quickbooks, Excel
  • Experience with Reckon APS program (desirable)
  • Proficient English writing and verbal skills
  • Excellent communication skills with strong relationship and stakeholder management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
  • Collaborative, team player who understands the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider organization\'s business
  • Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics
