ShopeePay Market & Liquidity Risk Officer

Overview

As part of the second line of defense, the Market and Liquidity Risk Officer shall provide independent governance and oversight to the institution’s business units with regards to market and liquidity risk management activities of ShopeePay. He/She shall assist Senior Management in meeting its responsibility in ensuring that the risk-taking activities of ShopeePay are aligned with the defined risk appetite and strategies as approved by the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and drive market and liquidity risk management framework, policies, and procedures
  • Recommend appropriate market and liquidity risk appetite statements, indicators and thresholds to Senior Management and to the Board of Directors
  • Identify, measure, evaluate, and monitor market and liquidity risk exposures
  • Provide independent assessment for new products and/or services and assess their impact on ShopeePay's current market and liquidity risk exposures
  • Develop and perform risk measurement calculations and stress testing, including its methodologies and assumptions
  • Regularly monitor market and liquidity risk metrics and positions. Communicate with stakeholders any significant deviation from risk measures
  • Perform risk assessment and gap analysis from regulatory mandates or industry practices
  • Manage audit/ regulatory reviews including coordination, communications, and required actions with internal auditors, external auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders as appropriate
  • Report ShopeePay's market and liquidity risk exposures and escalate risk appetite and limit breaches to Senior Management and to the Board of Directors
  • Conduct trainings, consultations, and discussions with business units on market and liquidity risk matters
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in market and liquidity risk management within a financial institution.
  • Possess solid understanding and working knowledge of balance sheet analysis, cashflow analysis and projection
  • Familiar with local regulation in market and liquidity risk management areas and have a deep understanding of the governance and controls surrounding risk monitoring
  • Intermediate knowledge in quantitative analysis, data analytics, statistical and machine learning techniques, and programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SQL, JavaScript) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools
  • Excellent communication and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication. Comfortable presenting to the Senior Management team and/or Board.
