JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with government regulations, and timely financial reporting. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and an in-depth understanding of logistics operations to support cost control, profitability, and business growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Financial Management and Reporting Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all accounting records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies. Monitor company cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision‑making. Oversee bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and coordinate with other departments to align financial targets with operational goals. Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis. Recommend cost‑saving initiatives and efficiency improvements. 3. Compliance and Audit Ensure compliance with BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) requirements and other regulatory agencies. Oversee tax filings, including VAT, income tax, and withholding tax. Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation. Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. 4. Team Leadership and Coordination Supervise accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and accountability in their work. Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities. Collaborate closely with operations, logistics, and admin departments to ensure financial processes align with company operations. 5. Logistics‑Specific Responsibilities Monitor and analyze logistics costs such as fuel, vehicle maintenance, toll fees, and warehousing expenses. Ensure accurate billing and invoicing for logistics services rendered to clients. Review and verify freight, delivery, and subcontractor charges. Support pricing strategy and cost allocation for different logistics operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. CPA license preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role (preferably in logistics, transport, or freight forwarding). Strong understanding of Philippine taxation, financial reporting, and accounting systems. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Peachtree or similar). Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
