Overview

Senior Account Manager Sales role at Gowan Company in the Philippines. Responsible for Profit & Loss (P&L) within the Philippines area, establishing and maintaining robust relationships with key stakeholders across the value chain, while driving order intake across the full range of Gowan Crop Protection (GCP) products.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships with key players in the value chain, including growers, dealers, and stakeholders who influence the business in the area.
  • Build support, rapport, and trust within sales channels to champion GCP products in the region.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory processes and needs for the local market.
  • Identify primary sales opportunities in the region and create plans to increase market share.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all questions and issues relating to GCP activities in the region.
  • Develop a complete picture of use patterns and market share of competitor products.
  • Assume P&L responsibility for the sales region, including budgeting and managing sales-related expenses (e.g., business promotion, customer entertainment, travel, product demos, communications, and more).
  • Represent GCP at major conferences for key crops in the region.
  • Identify unmet crop protection needs in the region and work with the development team to bring solutions to the market.
Education
  • Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture Sciences or similar. MBA preferred.
Experience / Skills / Abilities
  • At least 10 years of Sales / Marketing experience in the Philippine agriculture industry, with preferred expertise in plantations, especially bananas and pineapples.
  • Knowledge of sales channels and key distribution partners.
  • Ability to assimilate a technical foundation and broad understanding of crop protection, plant-health products, and integrated pest management; able to translate this into a business context and create financial models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience translating detailed scientific information into practical decision-ready information for non-technical clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues and customers across the value chain.
  • Self-starter with initiative and professionalism; able to work with some direct supervision.
  • Fluency in at least two languages, with English and Filipino being mandatory.
