JOB PROFILE JOB TITLE Senior Manager: Quality, Standards and Technology Transfer REPORTING TO Executive Manager: STP JOB GRADE D4 Minimum Midpoint TOTAL CTC R 1 012 897 R1 191 644 NO. OF INCUMBENTS 1 DIVISION STP LOCATION National Office MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To provide strategic direction and manage the technology transfer, quality and standards, product design and packaging support functions for small enterprises in line with Seda strategy and policies. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Develop policies, procedures and methodologies to govern the technology transfer and quality and standards interventions. Direct and oversee the administration of the Technology Transfer Fund. Direct and oversee the facilitation of programmes that enhance competitiveness of small enterprises through sourcing of market ready technologies and funding. Direct and oversee the facilitation of programmes that enhance the quality of products and services produced by South African entrepreneurs for national and export markets through the provision of technical support. Drive the creation of technology transfer platforms in support of small Direct and oversee the provision of technical support to small enterprises to comply with technical regulations through .partnerships with the national institutions i.e. SABS and SANAS. Manage Business Unit resources (People, Finance and Assets). REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION Matric (NQF Level 4) and a Bachelors’ Degree plus Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) or Post Graduate Diploma(NQF Level 8) in Commerce/Science/Technology or Engineering disciplines. Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) will be an added advantage. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE 8 – 10 year’s work experience in Industrial Technology, Technology Transfer and Quality & Standards of which at least 5 years must have been in a managerial role. Broad technical knowledge in a variety of industrial sectors and a sound grasp of the impact of technology on business growth. Deep understanding of Technology and innovation ecosystem. Sound knowledge and experience in the Small Business Development Sector. Sound knowledge of the legislation and policies that direct the Small Business Development sector. Knowledge of the PFMA and Procurement related prescripts.
