Network Operations Engineer

As part of our continued expansion, we are on the lookout for Network Operations Engineers to join our growing network team based in Manila, Philippines. The successful individual will join a globally distributed team spanning Europe, Asia/Pacific, North America, South America and will focus on the management, support and day‑to‑day operation of Continent8’s (C8) Global IP/MPLS Backbone Infrastructure. Role Operate C8’s highly available Global IP/MPLS Backbone built on Juniper MX routers and EX switches. Manage all IP Transit and Internet Peering routing. Provide network connectivity and routing of customer traffic into C8’s DDoS Platform. Operate C8’s corporate networks including Cisco Nexus switches, A10 load balancers, Cisco and Juniper legacy firewalls. Operate managed customer network infrastructure including Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco, Juniper, Dell and HP switches. Provision and terminate all customer network services including IP Transit (IPT), MPLS L3VPNs, MPLS L2 circuits, Cloud Connect over MPLS L3VPNs/L2 circuits to third‑party cloud providers. Manage planned and routine maintenance activities. Make recommendations and provide technical guidance to solve business problems and improve network availability for customers. Provide the escalation point for Level1 NOC teams in the resolution of customer service incidents and outages. Participate in various technology projects on internal platforms and external customer platforms. Provide guidance and work leadership to less‑experienced operational & support staff. Monitor network availability and performance to minimize downtime and optimize routing within each region and to/from the internet. Create and maintain documentation and wikis. Create runbooks to improve simple, repetitive tasks and processes to increase velocity and quality of customer service delivery. Work with software teams in defining tools to improve automation and enable infrastructure, configuration and administration scaling at volume. Provide day‑to‑day support of the C8 Global Backbone between Asia 23:00‑07:30 UTC, Europe 07:00‑15:30 UTC, Americas 15:00‑23:30 UTC. 5‑day work week (Monday to Sunday). Participate in an on‑call schedule providing Network Level2 support out of hours. Qualifications 3‑5 years of experience in a network support role, either operational or deployment, with Juniper network infrastructure. Extensive knowledge of IP networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRRP, etc.) and hands‑on experience managing large international networks. Experience working on a large network with multiple Internet peering points using BGP with multiple autonomous systems. Practical knowledge of network automation practices using Ansible playbooks and Python programming is a bonus. Familiarity with networking monitoring and management tools (Cacti, MRTG, Prometheus, etc.). Comfortable working with ambiguous or vaguely defined challenges to find technical solutions. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong technical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Industry‑recognized certifications such as CCNA/P, JNCIA/P, JNCIE, and DEV‑NET are desired.
