Bookkeeper (US GAAP and TAX EXPERT)

THE ROLE Our client is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to lead and manage the day-to-day financial operations of their growing organization. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with applicable financial regulations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial professional who brings not only deep technical expertise in bookkeeping but also a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to oversee and improve accounting workflows. You will work closely with accounting teams, department heads, and executive leadership to ensure that financial processes run efficiently and that reporting meets the highest standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform the following advanced financial management tasks: Maintain and oversee accurate records of all financial transactions, including AP/AR, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments Manage multi-entity or multi-client books with precision and adherence to internal and external compliance standards Perform the following tasks related to reporting and financial insights: Prepare and analyze advanced financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Identify trends, anomalies, and potential financial risks or opportunities, providing actionable insights to executive management Lead the preparation and support of annual audits and tax filings, working directly with CPAs and external auditor Handle accounts payable and receivable oversight through the following tasks: Oversee AP/AR cycles including invoice generation, approvals, collections, vendor payments, and dispute resolutions Optimize receivables processes to ensure strong cash flow management and accurate aging reports Perform the following payroll and compliance-related responsibilities: Supervise payroll processing and payroll tax reporting, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with labor laws and local regulations. Maintain meticulous records related to employee compensation and benefits Handle process optimization and systems management through the following: Evaluate, refine, and implement bookkeeping processes and internal controls for greater efficiency and accuracy Recommend and help implement automation or integration solutions with accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite) Lead adoption of best practices in cloud-based accounting workflows and remote financial operations QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) Minimum 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a senior, lead, or supervisory role Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite, and strong command of Microsoft Excel Deep knowledge of GAAP and compliance regulations; familiarity with US tax requirements is a plus Experience in a remote, multi-client, or multi-entity environment Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, complex reconciliations, and dynamic reporting needs Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to turn data into actionable business insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting financial information to leadership High degree of professionalism, discretion, and accountability CPA designation or equivalent credential is preferred but not required Familiarity with data privacy and financial record security standards QUALIFICATIONS WORK HOURS:9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time, follows Philippine holidays Work From Home Full-Time What awaits you upon securing the position?
