About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Semi-Senior Accountant and Bookkeeper to join our growing accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day reconciliations, supporting managers, and assisting with preparation of client accounts. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for multiple clients or business units Prepare and process journal entries, depreciation, accruals, and prepayments Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and control accounts Reconcile accounts payable and receivable functions Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve queries Prepare year‑end accounts to draft stage ready for manager to review Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage Requirements Part‑qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience) Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Experience working in a practice environment Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems Knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance #J-18808-Ljbffr
