Work Schedule Flexible between Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM UK

Job Description: Step into a pivotal role where your bookkeeping expertise directly impacts business decisions and financial clarity. You'll be instrumental in bringing accounts current while maintaining accurate records across multiple property portfolios. This position offers the perfect blend of technical accounting work and collaborative problem-solving, with the flexibility of remote work and the satisfaction of seeing immediate results from your efforts. You'll work closely with external accountants and have the autonomy to manage your schedule while ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile company accounts using Xero accounting software for business operations
  • Manage personal property portfolio accounts using QuickBooks with complex inter-entity transactions
  • Record and categorize financial transactions across multiple property holdings
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes for property management services
  • Coordinate and communicate with external accountants regarding tax compliance and categorization
  • Catch up on backlogged bookkeeping entries and establish current, accurate records
  • Prepare and manage invoicing for property management services
  • Ensure proper categorization of property-related expenses and income streams according to UK tax regulations
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks during periods of lighter bookkeeping workload

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Xero and QuickBooks accounting software
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reconciliation processes
  • Excellent English communication skills for coordinating with external accountants and client
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
  • Attention to detail when handling sensitive financial information and complex transactions
  • Bonus if you have experience with property management or real estate accounting
  • It helps if you understand UK tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Bonus if you have experience with Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) structures
