Overview Join to apply for the System Administrator role at Connext . The Systems Administrator 2 is responsible for providing IT Level 2/Level 3 support while administering Windows, Microsoft 365, VMware, and Citrix environments. The role resolves escalated incidents, maintains core services (AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP), manages patching, backups, and VDI/virtualization, and ensures SLA compliance with high-quality end-user support. This position also drives documentation, root-cause analysis, and continuous service improvements. Responsibilities Resolve L2/L3 tickets with SLA compliance and clear documentation. Act as the escalation point for Service Desk; mentor L1/L2 technicians. Identify recurring issues, drive root-cause analysis, and recommend fixes. Administer Windows Server/desktop, AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, and file/print services. Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive). Maintain endpoint standards, security hardening, and device compliance. Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi (VM builds, templates, snapshots, resource/capacity). Support Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops or Citrix DaaS (images, catalogs, policies, profiles). Monitor performance and availability; tune and troubleshoot VDI/host issues. Own patch management and software deployment (e.g., Intune/SCCM/WSUS or RMM). Perform backup/restore and DR tests (e.g., Veeam or equivalent). Collaborate with SecOps for EDR/AV policies and vulnerability remediation. Use RMM/monitoring to track health, alerts, and capacity; take corrective action. Maintain accurate runbooks and asset/config documentation (e.g., ITGlue). Participate in change control and planned maintenance windows. Partner with engineering and vendors for complex issues and changes. Recommend automation and process improvements; contribute to standards and SOPs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience. Minimum of three (3) years of IT support experience, including Level 2 or Level 3 capacity. Must have a stable employment history. Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops or Citrix DaaS. Experience with Windows Server/desktop, Active Directory, GPO, and DNS/DHCP. Administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint). Patch and endpoint management (e.g., Intune, SCCM, WSUS, or RMM). Backup/restore and disaster recovery tools (e.g., Veeam or similar). Experience with ticketing systems and SLA tracking; structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis (RCA). Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi) and basic PowerShell scripting. Willingness to participate in on-call/after-hours maintenance as needed. Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication in English, to effectively collaborate with customers with a proactive approach.
