Overview

The Patient Service Representative handles inbound calls, assists patients with queries, manages accounts and billing information, and supports third-party entities (e.g., insurance) as part of the patient services team. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance and team collaboration to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls according to procedure and Departmental standards.
  • Assist patients in their queries and concerns.
  • Collect patients' outstanding balances.
  • Assist third party entities, e.g., insurance, in their queries regarding patients' accounts.
  • Place outbound collection calls according to procedure and Departmental standards.
  • Cross-train for tasks assigned to the team to ensure continuity of all tasks when needed.
  • Ensure HIPAA guidelines are respected by safeguarding protected health information in the capacity of the position's duties and responsibilities.
  • Be a team player, supportive of Department and Company goals and policies.
  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance and return from breaks on time.
  • Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Ability to answer calls, assist patients, and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
  • Experience with HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding patient information (or willingness to learn).
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to cross-train and support multiple tasks as needed.
