Accounting Supervisor (Appfolio) Remote | Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST Starting at $1,550 per month Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive CPA to oversee a team of Property Accountants and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across our property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, deep expertise in property accounting, and hands‑on experience with AppFolio Property Management Software . This role will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, review financial deliverables prepared by the team, and provide support and guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal standards. The position is fully remote, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST. Key Responsibilities Team Supervision & Leadership Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Property Accountants. Review and approve bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports prepared by accounting staff. Monitor team performance to ensure deadlines for monthly closings and reporting are consistently met. Provide training, coaching, and process guidance to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Allocate work assignments, track progress, and resolve accounting‑related issues raised by team members. Financial Operations & Reporting Oversee the preparation and accuracy of property‑level financial statements and reports. Review GL accounts including Fixed Assets, Prepaid Insurance, Loan Fees, and Mortgage Payable. Ensure timely posting of revenue recognition, loan payments, and accrual entries. Monitor property tax bills, insurance schedules, and vendor payments for assigned portfolios. Review aged payables and receivables reports to ensure proper resolution of outstanding items. Maintain consistency in financial processes across multiple properties and entities. Process Management & Quality Control Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency. Coordinate with property management and leadership teams on financial matters and special projects. Support audit and compliance activities by preparing or reviewing requested documentation. Assist in system improvements and process automation, particularly within AppFolio and integrated tools. Communication & Collaboration Serve as the primary point of contact between accounting staff, property managers, and company leadership. Respond promptly to inquiries from owners, executives, and cross‑functional departments. Foster a collaborative and accountable remote work environment. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and property accounting principles Proficiency with AppFolio Property Management Software required Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Tech‑savvy; familiarity with Airbnb, Stripe, and/or CardPointe is a plus Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced remote environment Must be available during U.S. Eastern Time (EST) hours How to Apply Please complete the pre‑screening questionnaire using the link below: Pre‑Screening Form Completion of this form is required for your application to be considered.
